Environmental Stewardship: The Green Team
Our Mission Statement
We embrace the sacred and moral responsibility to be active stewards of God's creation by promoting a vision of a just and sustainable world community.
We will adopt best practices in preserving and nourishing our earth and its resources by incorporating green thinking, sustainability and conservation into
our operational decisions and actions.
Our leadership will inspire and empower our church community, our neighbors and future generations to strengthen their relationship with the beauty, mystery and power in nature and to take action for the earth.
St Paul's Church in Delray Beach Pursues Environmental Certification
St Paul's has launched a major environmental initiative to 'Go Green' by participating in a rigorous two-year environmental certification program sponsored by
GreenFaith, a national interfaith environmental organization.
Read our Press Release here for more details on this important initiative.
Toxics Policy Advocacy
Environmental justice and advocacy for change is one component of our certification process to becoming a GreenFaith Sanctuary.
GreenFaith has been involved with advocacy around the
Toxics Substances Control Act (TSCA), the national law governing toxic chemicals. This law is in desperate need of reform, and St Paul's is in the process of gathering signatures and support for the
Safe Chemicals Act in response. Visit the Bulletin Board in the Breezeway at St Paul's for more information and sign our petition going to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, urging the Committee to vote the
Safe Chemicals Act out of Committee without amendments. We are collecting these signatures through May 26, 2013. For more information, please
